ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Super League’s fifth edition is just around the corner, starting from 20th February 2020 in Karachi.
As the franchises are being upgraded every year, the prize money is also increasing. This year, the winner will get the prize of $500,000 cash prize, not only that, the runners up will be taking home the grand amount of will receive a cheque of $200,000
In its recent press release, the league authorities stated the tournament will be giving total prize money of US$1 million, having an individual award of player of the match costing $4,500 which will be given at the end of every match.
It further stated that many other awards including best batsman, best bowler, players of the tournament and spirit of cricket award will be costing a total of 80,000.
The press released shared “The remaining amount will be distributed for other match-related awards like best catch, best run-out, and most sixes.”
This mega event will include 34 matches expected to be the biggest and historic cricket tournament to take place in Pakistan after the 2008 Asia Cup.
This year six teams will be playing including Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. Four venues have been assigned for the tournament starting in Karachi with nine matches, Lahore 14 matches, Rawalpindi eight and Multan three matches.
Quetta Gladiator, former champions will take on two-time former winners Islamabad United in the opening match at the National Stadium, Karachi.
