PM Imran Khan demanded a trial against Fazal Ur Rehman under Article 6

ISLAMABAD: On Friday 14 February 2020, Imran Khan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan demanded a trial against Fazal ur Rehman, chief of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam for treason, as he has made remarks to force out the government.

During an unofficial discussion with the media persons, he stated that under Article 6, Maulana should be tried on a case for making a statement for trying to deposition the government.

JUI-F leader further said that the reason behind ending his Azadi protest was that he has been assured that Imran Khan will be ousted and within three months new elections will be held. On Kashmir Road, from 1 to 13 Nov 2019, JUI-F recorded a sit-in which ended abruptly as Fazal ul Rehman announced a Plan-B, which resulted in roadblocks all over the country.

However, he didn’t mention any source of assurance, and it was stated by many of the analysts that the during the entire period of sit-in, the government was weak and might have accepted their demand for re-elections.

In today’s conversation, Imran Khan talked about the shortage of sugar and wheat held across the country and informed that the investigation has been done in this matter.

He also clarified that Jahangir Tareen and Khusro Bakhtiar’s name didn’t appear in the investigation done to date and the government is waiting for opposition’s reaction to that.

He further said that initially, the report is not complete and further twenty question has been sent to find more through the investigation. He assured that the culprits will be revealed in front of the public.
