As he started his speech, he thanked God as he was so pleased to come to Pakistan and for giving such an opportunity to him. He further thanked all the parliamentary members for granting him permission to make a speech in the joint session of Parliament.
He thanked the people of Pakistan for such a warm welcome as in Pakistan he has never felt like he is a foreigner, the people have treated him like a family member, and it’s always been home.
During the worst times of Turkey, Pakistan has supported it and both countries have a commendable relationship.
He also referred to one of the poems by Allama Iqbal saying that when the people of Pakistan supported Turkey, the Turkish were feeling overwhelmed with emotions. And Turkish will never forget the favors done by Pakistan.
Speaking for Kashmiris he said, we feel as heartbroken for the Kashmir issue as much as the Pakistani and we are on the same path when it comes to taking a stand.
Turkey will never stop to raise voice against the brutally done in Kashmir, as we have gone through it. Canakkale has suffered like Kashmir, and all those incidents are being repeated in India now.
The friendship between both the countries is not selfish or based on any particular interest, its origin is nothing but love. And how can we ever forget the prayers done by Pakistani for Turkey! During the earthquakes, Pakistanis have supported us and on behalf of Turkey, he thanked the people of Pakistan for the support. He added we will support Pakistan in every hard time ahead.
Erdogan also said that “We can not achieve peace and stability by working a few days, it requires effort, Pakistan is on the way to peace and stability. Pakistan has been under the effect of terrorism and we applaud Pakistan’s efforts to rid this region from terrorism.
He stated that “Pakistan and Turkey are the countries that have been most affected by terrorism due to their geographic location and we will continue to cooperate with Pakistan on counter-terrorism.”
Talking about the Kashmiris he said that our brothers and sisters in Kashmir have dealt with enough difficulties and this issue has become graver for several of them. However, the issue can only be fixed through fair decision and justice. For that Turkey will always pay his services to stand by peace and dialogue.
He also talked about Afghanistan’s effort, saying that “On this occasion, I would like to emphasize that we appreciate Pakistan’s positive contributions to the peace process in Afghanistan.”
