Lahore civil court gave the verdict on the petition for not airing the drama “Mere Paas Tum Ho”

LAHORE: On Friday 24 January 2020, after hearing all the expositions both the sides civil court Lahore has given the final verdict on the petition of not airing drama “Mere Paas Tum Ho” by rejecting the petition.

According to the sources, there was a petition filed privately by a woman Maham Jamshed against the airing of the last episode of the drama “Mere Paas Tum Ho”. 

Maham was against the airing and filed the petition on the basis that the drama is creating a negative impact on the society.

She also stated that the central idea of this drama has targeted women and how a woman plays the role of a “villain” in the society. This drama has portrayed a negative image of Pakistani women to society that’s why it should be banned. 

Civil judge Naila Ayub head the bench and after hearing all the explanation and expositions, the court rejected the petition filed by her saying that this drama is not creating any bad impact on society that’s why court has ordered to air the drama as usual.

It was further said that people are comparing this drama to the classic PTV dramas.

For the previous two months, since the beginning of this drama, it has broken all the records of viewership trending first every week on YouTube and Twitter.

The lead character is played by Humayun Saeed who is also the producer, with the female lead Ayeza Khan and the director Nadeem Baig, and it is decided before airing on the TV, the last episode will be aired on cinemas.
