LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid on Tuesday said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif should submit an updated report regarding his health to authorities since the relief granted to him for medical treatment abroad had expired.
The health minister made the statement while speaking to reporters in Lahore on Wednesday afternoon. The provincial minister said that photos of him dining out in London were now creating controversy.
Nawaz had been given one-time permission on medical grounds by the Lahore High Court for four weeks in November to travel aboard for treatment.
The relief granted to the former premier expired on December 25, the minister said.
Earlier this week, photos of him [Nawaz] allegedly dining out with his family members in London sparked controversy, and Rashid referenced those photos in her presser.
“Everyone has seen the viral photos of Nawaz Sharif on social media. We have asked Dr Adnan (Nawaz’s physician) to tell us whether the leisurely outings of the former premier have anything to do with his health condition,” Rashid said in apparent reference to said photos.
