ICC WorldCup 2019: India won the match against Srilanka by 7 wickets

London: India won the match in ICC WorldCup 2019 against Srilanka by 7 wickets.

Srilanka won the toss and decided to bat first as the match started at the Headingly Carnegie stadium.

In the first innings openers weren’t in quite form as Karunaratne scored only 10 runs while K. Perera scored 18. Fernando scored 20 runs.

Mendis scored 3 runs while de Silva scored 29 and T. Perera scored 2 runs. Mathews scored a prominent 113 runs with the assistance of Thirimanne who scored 53 runs. I. Udana scored only a run as team managed to set the target of 265 runs.

From the indian side Bumrah took 3 wickets while Pandya, Bhuvneshwar, Jadeja and Yadav took one each.

In the second innings the openers were at their best forms like always K. L Rahul scored 111 while Rohit Sharma scored 103 runs. R. Pant scored 4 runs. Captain Virat Kohli at 34 and Pandya at 7 were not out as they managed to chase the target.

From Srilankan side Malinga, Rajhita and Udana took one wicket each.
