London: Srilanka won the match in ICC WorldCup 2019 against West Indies by 23 runs

West Indies won the toss and chose to bowl first as the match started at the Riverside ground.

The first innings started and the Srilankan openers played an stern game as Karunaratne scored 32 while Pererq scored 64 runs. Mendis scored 39 runs.

The prominent scorer was Fernando who scored 104 for the team. A. Methews scored scored an average 26 runs while I. Udana went back after scoring only 3 runs. L. Thirimanne at 45 and D de Silva at 6 were not out as the team set the target of 339 runs.

From West Indian side captain J. Holder took 2 wickets while Allen, Thomas and Cottrell took one each.

In the second innings the West Indian openers did a quite great job Chris Gayle scored 35 runs but Ambris was able to score only 5 runs. Hope scored 5 and Hetmyer 29 runs.

Pooran scored a unanimous 118 runs while Captain Holder scored 26. Allen scored 51 and Braithwate at 8 also Cottrel scored 7. Thomas at 1 and Gabriel was standing at 3 till all the overs were finished.

From Srilankan side L. Malinga took 3 wickets while K. Rajhita, Mathews and J. Vandersay took one each
