ICC WorldCup 2019: India won the fourteenth match against Australia by 36 runs

LONDON: India won the fourteenth match of ICC WorldCup 2019 against Australia by 36 runs.

The match started at the legendary ground of The Oval. India won the toss and chose to bat first.

In the first innings Indian openers were in their best form, having the hitter Shikar Dhawan at the top who played a prominent innings of 117 runs assisted by Rohit Sharma’s 57. Virat Kohli scored 86 runs until he was caught by Patt Cummins. Hardik Pandya scored 48 runs until his wicket was taken by Patt Cummins. MS Dhoni scored 27 while K.L Rahula at 11 and K. Jadav at 0 remained not out setting the target of 352 runs.

From the Aussies side, M. Stoinis got 2 wickets while Cummins, Starc and Nile picked one each.

In the second innings, Warner scored 56, the skipper Finch scored 36 runs. Steve Smith bagged 69 runs and Usman Khawaja hit 42 runs.

Maxwell scored 28 and Carey hit 55 runs. Stoinis didn’t scored any run. Nile was at 4 and Cummins at 8. Starc and Zampa added 4 runs to the total and therefore the team didn’t achieve the target

From Indian side, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Bhumrah got 3 wickets while Chahal bagged 2.
