ICC WorldCup 2019: England won the twelveth match against Bangladesh by 108 runs

WALES: England won the twelveth match of ICC WorldCup 2019 against Bangladesh by 108 runs.

The match started at the Sophia Garden Cricket Grounds, Cardiff Wales. Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first.

The first innings started at full pace as opener J. Roy was in his best form and with the assistance of J. Bairstow at 51 he was able to score 153 runs and thus was given the man of the match title.

J. Root scored relatively lesser runs but a stern game of 21 runs. J. Butler who is really in good form since the last matches scored 64 runs. Captain Eon Morgan scored 35 runs. Ben Stokes unexpectedly scored only 6 runs. C. Woakes at 18 and L. Plunkett at 27 remained not out. Team set the target of 386 runs, the highest in this year’s tournament.

From Bangladesh’s side, M. Saiduddin and M. Hasan got 2 wickets each while Mortaza and Rahman picked one each.

In the second innings, the opening side wasn’t in good form as Tamim Iqbal scored only 19 runs also S. Sarkar scored only 2. Shakib Al Hasan played an amazing game tried to turn the table by scoring 121 runs with the assistance of Mushfiqur Rahim who scored 44. M. Mithun and M. Rahman didn’t scored a run.

Mahmudullah scored 28 with Hossain having 26 runs. Saifuddin scored 5 , Hasan 3. Mortaza remained not out till all the balls were finished.

From English side, J. Archer and Ben Stokes got 3 wickets. M. Wood got 2 while Plunkett and Rashid picked 1 each.
