LONDON: New Zealand won the ninth match of ICC WorldCup 2019 against Bangladesh by 2 wickets.

New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl first. The match started at the legendary ground of the oval.

In the first innings, the openers Tamim Iqbal played a stern game of 24 runs until he was caught by Trent Boult and the other one S. Sarkar scored 25 runs until he was bowled out by Matt Henry. Shakib Al Hasan scored a unanimous 64 runs until his hit was picked by Tom Latham. Mushfiqur Rahim wasn’t really in form thus scored only 19 and was run out. M. Mithun scored 26 runs and was caught by Grandhomme.

Mahmudullah scored 20 while Saifuddin hit 29 until bowled out by Matt Henry. M. Hossain scored 11 runs and was caught by Guptil. M. Hassan and M. Mortaza added 8 runs to the scoreboard. Team set the target of 244 runs.

From Kiwi’s side Matt Henry caught 4 wickets and Trent Boults took 2. Ferguson, Grandhomme and Santher got 1 each.

In the second innings, opener Guptill and Munro scored 25 and 24 runs. K. Williamson played well until he was caught by M. Hossain at 40. T. Latham didn’t scored any run. N. Neesham was playing good until at 25 runs he was caught by S. Sarkar, Matt Henry at 6 runs and Grandhomme at 15 runs was caught by Mushfiqur.

Ross Taylor played a prominent innings of 82 runs until he was picked by Mushfiqur Rahim. M. Santher at 17 runs and Ferguson at 4 runs. And they were able to chase the target adding four runs above.

For Bangladesh Shakib, M. Hasan, Saifuddin and M. Hossain picked 2 wickets. Ross Taylor was given the title of the man of the match.
