Budget will be presented on June 11: Firdous Ashiq Awan

ISLAMABAD: During addressing a press conference here in the capital, the Special Assistant of Prime Minister on Information, Firdous Ashiq Awan, said that the federal budget is going to be presented on June 11 on Tuesday.

According to Firdous Ashiq Awan, the forthcoming budget will focus upon improving economy of Pakistan as well as foreign debt for the fiscal year 2019-20. Furthermore, another matters deliberated upon was that the common man not be impacted by the budget.

It was also noted by the special assistant that initial documents pertaining to the budget were pondered upon.

It was reported earlier that Rs3.28 trillion was proposed by the federal budget for the provinces, indicating an excess as opposed to the corresponding period worth Rs0.7 trillion.

It was revealed by the budget document that the Sindh provinces and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) would be given Rs0.805 trillion and Rs0.475 trillion, respectively, in next fiscal year.

In order to meet expenditures of the merged tribal districts in 2019-20, the government of KP has sought Rs0.206 trillion from the center which involves the execution of salaries, development program, as well as other privileges.

Similarly, the Department of Finance in KP sought Rs0.206 trillion in upcoming fiscal year for the new government jobs.

The documents revealed that KP would require Rs0.105 trillion in the year of the program under the 10-year planning and development program.
