Sexual Harassment Allegation: Ali Zafar couldn’t control his tears

LAHORE: The Pakistani singer-songwriter Ali Zafar on Sunday lost control of his emotions and burst into tears while talking about the allegation leveled against him about sexual harassment by female singer Meesha Shafi.

The Pakistani singer-songwriter Ali Zafar talked at a private television channel program where he said that he is unaware of the reason due to which singer Meesha Shafi accused him of sexual harassment.

The Pakistani heartthrob Ali Zafar said that a case was filed against him by Messha Shafi but the judgements of the court were pronounced in his favour. He added that a campaign was started against him on social media.

Ali Zafar couldn’t control his emotions and said that he stayed quiet for a year on the sexual harassment topic but whenever such allegations are leveled on a person, either a man or a woman, it completely destroys them.

The singer Ali Zafar said that Meesha Shafi wanted to get Canadian citizenship. He further added that they met in many different parties and also added that she used to visit his house.

Ali Zafar asked “Why didn’t Meesha complained my wife or my elders if she was sexually harassed.”

Meesha Shafi was urged by Ali Zafar earlier on Saturday, to face the court as her case against him was dismissed. Ali Zafar further drew a parallel between Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai and her.

The Pakistani singer-songwriter Ali Zafar said “Meesha Shafi’s case against me has been dismissed alongside the appeal made against the dismissal. The case in the court is my case against her to pay for damages that her false statement has caused me, which naturally she is trying to run away from.

He also said “I have also filed a case against all the fake and other accounts being used to run a campaign against me on social media. I have been quiet about all this for a year while thousands of disgusting tweets were posted against me, like a campaign every time a big event comes. But it’s time to expose the truth via due process of law for which I urge the FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) to take strict legal action.

He added “And a prayer to our respected courts to decide the matter at earliest for which I would like everyone to join me in asking Miss Shafi to come to the court. #FaceTheCourtMeeshaShafi.”

He tweeted “Here’s the copy of Meesha’s case dismissal exonerating me in the eyes of the law. Now I will prove in the eyes of people, with evidence, how she lied! I will also expose the most heinous social media campaign against me that you may ever seen. #FaceTheCourtMeeshaShafi.”

He also tweeted “#Malala is a true warrior who stands for truth and justice having made great sacrifices. Meesha cannot become her by lying and running away from justice hiding behind fake profiles on social media. #FaceTheCourtMeeshaShafi.”
