KARACHI: In the first eliminator of Pakistan Super League, Islamabad United trounced Karachi Kings by four wickets at the National Cricket Stadium, Karachi.
In Islamabad United there were the captain Mohammad Sami, Sahibzada Farhan, Luke Ronchi, Cameron Delport, Hussain Talat, Waqas Maqsood, Asif Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Rizwan Hussain, Chadwick Walton, Philip Salt, Shadab Khan, SR Patel, Ian Bell, Samit Patel, Gunman Raees, Muhammad Musa, Wayne Parnell.
While Karachi Kings were having skipper Imad Wasim, Babar Azam, Liam Livingstone, Colin Ingram, Colin Munro, Sikandar Raza, Mohammad Rizwan, Sohail Khan, Mohammad Amir, Usman Shinwari, Umar Khan, Aamer Yamin Ben Dunk, Iftikhar Ahmed, Usama Mir, Ali Imran, Awais Zia.
King’s captain Imad Wasim won the toss and chose to bat first.
In the first innings, the partnership started by Babar Azam and Colin Munro helped Kings reached this target of 161 runs. Muhammad Musa from Islamabad took 3 wickets, with Faheem Ashraf 2 and Rumman Raees 1 exerting pressure on Kings.
In the second innings, Islamabad lost some early wickets, CS Delport scored 38 with AD Hales alongside with 41. Asif Ali stole the match scoring 26 runs within some last over. Umer Khan and Amir Yamin got 2 wickets while Mohammad Amir and Usman Shinwari got 1 each.
They will now face Peshawar Zalmi in the Eliminator -2 to be played on Friday at the same venue where the winners of the two will play the final against Quetta Gladiators on Sunday (March 17 ) agains at the same ground.
