PM Imran ‘extremely disappointed’ over Punjab ministers’ salary raise

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday expressed disappointment over Punjab Assembly’s decision to raise salaries and privileges of lawmakers, ministers and the chief minister, calling the move untenable.

“I am extremely disappointed by decision of Punjab Assembly to raise pays and privileges of MPAs, Ministers and especially CM,”the prime minister wrote on Twitter.

He said the increase could be justified once prosperity returns to Pakistan.

“But now, when we do not have resources to provide basic amenities to all our people, this is untenable,” he said.
