KARACHI: Peshawar Zalmi defeated Karachi Kings by a hefty number of 61 in the thirtieth match of Pakistan Super League 2019 played at the National Cricket Stadium Karachi.
Peshawar Zalmi was having the skipper Darren Sammy, Imam-ul-Haq, Kamran Akmal, Umar Amin, Sohaib Maqsood, Liam Dawson, Kieron Pollard, Darren Sammy,Wahab Riaz, Hasan Ali, Tymal Mills, Sameen Gul.
While in Karachi Kings squad there were captain Imad Wasim, Babar Azam, Colin Munro, Liam Livingstone, Colin Ingram, Ben Dunk, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Usman Shinwari, Umer Khan, Sohail Khan
Kings weren’t able to chase such a big total set by Zalmi which was of 204 runs, despite of the marvellous performance by CA Ingram scoring 71 runs.
As many toss winners in this season, Kings chose to bowl first as they had won the toss.
But the decision backfired them as the opener from Zalmi’s side Kamran Akmal was in killing form along with Imam ul Haq giving a flash start to the first innings.
Peshawar was on 203 with the loss of 9 wickets as the innings dismissed. Kamran Akmal contributing 86 runs with 9 boundaries while Imam adding 58 runs to the scoreboard.
C Munro and Usman Shinwari picked up two and a single wickets respectively. While the star fast-bowler Mohammad Amir knocked out three key players of Peshawar Zalmi.
But in the second innings, Kings lost some major wickets of Umer Khan, C Munro and Mohammad Amir went back at ducks, however Sohail Khan scored a single run while Usman Shinwari remained not out at the end of the match.
TS Mills, Wahab Riaz and Sameen Gul picked up two wickets each while ex-golden ball holder Hasan Ali picked up three wickets for Zalmi.
As a result of the win, Zalmi is now at the top of the points table of this edition.
