KARACHI: Karachi Kings takes on Quetta Gladiators in the playoff match for the second time in Pakistan Super League 2019.
In Karachi Kings’ squad there were the captain Imad Wasim, Babar Azam, Liam Livingstone, Colin Ingram, Iftikhar Ahmed, Colin Munro, Awais Zia, Aamer Yamin, Abrar Ahmed, Ali Imran, Ben Dunk, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Amir, Usman Shinwari, Sohail Khan, Sikandar Raza, Umer Khan, Aaron Summers, Usama Mir.
While Quetta Gladiators were having the skipper Sarfraz Ahmed, foreign hitter Shane Watson, Umar Akmal, Ahmed Shehzad, Rilee Rossouw, Dwayne Smith, Dwayne Bravo, Ahsan Ali, Azam Khan, Sohail Tanvir, Mohammad Irfan, Danish Aziz, Anwar Ali, Fawad Ahmed, Ghulam Mudassar, Mohammad Asghar, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Nawaz, Saud Shakeel.
Quetta Gladiators won the toss and opted to field first against Karachi Kings in the 28th match of Pakistan Super League played at the National Cricket Stadium Karachi.
Karachi Kings managed to give a hefty total of 190 to the table-toppers Quetta which boost their chances to reach the finals.
Credits given to Usman Shinwari who, in the second innings changed the game for the winning team by taking three wickets in the last over, leading his team to the next round.
Despite of the amount of pressure given to Kings by Quetta Gladiators, King hitters Babar Azam and Colin Ingram delivered a fair performance. Iftikhar Ahmed also took charge in the final overs, hitting boundaries to reach the final tally with the loss of five wickets.
Quetta Gladiators also had an outstanding innings with Umar Akmal hitting boundaries before sending back at 27 and Ahmed Shehzad getting on the edge of his century before knocked out on 99.
Today’s win by Karachi made things more difficult for Lahore Qalanders as their chances of going to the next round are getting lower.
