Aasia Bibi cleared from Top court, She has right to travel: FO

ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, it has been maintained by the Foreign Minister that Aasia Bibi has a right to travel anywhere after the verdict of the Supreme Court absolved her from the charges of blasphemy.

A review petition was rejected by the Supreme Court that was challenging the verdict of the top court to acquit Aasia Bibi- the Christian woman who charged for the blasphemy case year-long.

Justice Asif Saeed Khosa who headed the three-member bench and comprising Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and Justice Qazi Faez Isa tossed out the petition against their verdict to acquit Aasia Bibi from the death sentenced from which she suffered for eight years last October.

In the hearing at the top court, it was told by the Chief Justice Khosa that, “Based on merit, this review petition is dismissed,” which abolished the death sentence of Aasia Bibi from the blasphemy last year.

The petitioner lawyer was told by the top judge that, “Not even a single mistake could be pointed out by the you in the verdict of Supreme Court.”

It was said by Dr Faisal- the FO spokesperson that Aasia Bibi can travel inside Pakistan and make the foreign visit as well as the charges has been cleared from her by the highest court of the law.

Aasia Bibi is still in Pakistan, as per the sources.
