Nawazuddin Siddiqui says second season of “SACRED GAMES” will be more exciting than the first

INDIA: Nawazuddin Siddiqui, an Indian film actor who recently finished shooting Sacred Games’ African schedule have given a glimpse of the popular Indian crime drama which has just reached into the second season saying that it will be more exciting than the first.

Nawazuddin giving an interview to an Indian newspaper Mid-Day said, “This season will be the baap of the first one. People won’t know what to expect from Ganesh Gaitonde even if they know him. We shot extensively across Mombasa, Johannesburg and Cape Town.”

Sacred Games is based on the novel written in 2006 by Vikram Chandra. It is a thriller drama with police officers, politicians and spies set in the Mumbai city.

Nawazuddin is playing role of a criminal overlord, Ganesh Gaitonde who remolds himself after coming back from his hiding place for more than 15 years. Saif Ali Khan plays a Police officer Sartaj who receives a call from Gaitonde, which helps him to unearth his hideout place which was in the heart of the Mumbai.

However, Gaitonde’s character was killed in the first episode of the series, the rest of the season was about his story in flashback. Further the second season is more going to explore his tale particularly his relationship with Guruji, played by Pankaj Tripathi.

Anurag Kashyap, famous filmmaker is directing the Gaitonde’s story for the second season as well, while Neeraj Ghaywan (Masaan) will take over Sartaj Singh’s plot from Vikramaditya Motwane.

The second season of Sacred Games is expected to release by mid-2019.
