Ranveer Singh- a Bollywood actor is all ready to play the role of Kapil Dev- the former Indian World Cup winning captain in 1983 and it seems that he is working hard to do it.
A picture is shared by the Bajirao Mastani actor himself in the kit, ready to play the scene with the celebrated cricketer Balwinder Singh Sandhu. Ranveer is seen capturing the distinct bowling action of Dev, in recent interview, as one of the biggest challenges awaiting him.
It was also told by Ranveer Singh to the journalist Rajeev Masand in an interview, “The most challenging thing is just around the corner, as in January, I will be going to train to bowl like Kapil Dev. That’s going to be hard. I must tell you the story. I went to Lord’s to watch a Test match. It rained all day and there was not a single ball bowled. In the box, Sachin Tendulkar happened to come. I was lucky enough to get some time with him. I was telling him I am doing this movie and I am playing Kapil Dev.”
“I told him I am going to do all the homework and I am going to get the look and accent everything, but I think the most difficult part would be the bowling. And he was like — oh, you are going to do the bowling yourself? He also thinks it’s going to be tough,” further added by Ranveer Singh.
Kabir Khan will be directed, “83 follows how, under newly-appointed captain Dev, the Indian cricket team defeated West Indies in the final of the World Cup in 1983. It tracks the coming-of-age of not just a cricketing team, but of a young nation in the eyes of the world,” tweeted by Ranveer Singh.
