12 Rabi ul Awwal, Eid Milad-un-Nabi: to be a Public Holiday or not?

KARACHI: Jashn-e-Eid Milad un Nabi (SAWW) will be observed all across the country on Wednesday Nov 21st. 12th Rabi ul Awwal is a national holiday since forever but no such notification had been published by the government yet.

There are number of rumours on social sites about the holiday on 11th Rabi ul Awwal in Sindh but no such information is provided by the concerned authorities.

The Home Department Sindh, issued a notification related to the holiday, according to which colleges, schools, several educational institutions and department under the control of administration of Provincial government are given the order to be closed.

Muslims around the globe celebrate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) with religious zeal and love in the third month of Islamic Calender on 12th Rabi ul Awwal.

Several naat and qirat events will be observed in different schools, colleges, houses and institutions.

This year, the government of Pakistan had especially taken a step further to celebrate this occasion on state level.
